Smashing Magainze’s list of 50 Free Resources That Will Improve Your Writing Skills is, to say the least, incredible. It’s probably as complete of a list of resources for writers that you will see. In fact, the only thing I see missing is Weekly Writing Assignment (that’s o.k., we’ll forgive them as this site was officially launched after this particular list was pblished). 

There are links to grammar resources such as Grammar Girl, Ultimate Style and the University of Ottawa’s HyperGrammar course. There are links to lists of common errors in English and and English grammar FAQ. There are tips to getting published, links to lists of online writing courses, and even links for proessional writing blogs such as Copyblogger (one of my favorites).  And there are links to tons of tools for writers.

A writer could seriously waste some time procrastinating browsing through all these sites. So, take a look, but don’t waste too much time. After all, your first writing assignment is due Monday, July 27.
