Debating an Extension
This week’s assignment was a little more challenging than the previous two. For one, it was longer. Or at least allowed for a longer length. It was also a somewhat more challenging assignment, as writers were asked to
I’ve received only a fraction of the number of entries I’ve been receiving. Not sure if this is a function of the assignment, or my own business and inability to fully promote the writing contest. The few I’ve received so far are good, but contests like these are best when you receive a larger number to choose from.
So, I’m asking you, Weekly Writing Assignment fans, should I extend the deadline for this week’s assignment? And if so, should I release the next assignment at the same time?
I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this. Please leave them in the comments field.

I’m all for it. On vacation this week (no complaints! at all!) so I’m not sure if I’ll be submitting something, but another week would certainly increase the likelihood of that happening.

I’m not one way or t’other. I’ll be submitting at the usual 11th (& 50/60ths) hour. An extension would only give me more time to produce stomach acid as I procrastinate.

No no! Deadlines are crucial to the creative process. If you cave now, at only Assignment #3, people will think, Oh he’ll give me an extension next week too. Take it from a Class A procrastinator. We take as long as you give us, to the very last millisecond. : )

Oh, I should add, I don’t have an animal story to submit, so it’s easy for me to say, Crack the whip.

O.k. No deadline. Period. Amy made a great point. Plus, I received more over the weekend.
