Weekly Writing Assignment: 1 month old!
Before I announce the monthly finalists, I want to first thank everyone who has visited this site, everyone who has shown their support and, most importantly, everyone who has contributed their time and talents to helping this site grow and flourish.
In just a single month, this site has garnered more than 2,000 visits from more than 1,300 unique visitors. What’s great is that people are really reading the assignment entries, visiting an average of 2.5 pages per visit, and staying on the site for more nearly 2 1/2 minutes! If you’re not familiar with web site statistics, this is way above the benchmark of average sites of this size.
Most importantly, this site has received 33 entries in just a single month. That’s about 8 entries per assignment (though it hasn’t quite been distribute that way). Of them, 15 were Weekly Finalists. To everyone who had the get up and go to submit: I salute you!
All these great achievements for such a young site being said, there’s still a lot of work to do. For me and for you. For me, I think there’s some aesthetic changes I’d like to make. I also need to more actively promote the site, and that will come when I have more free time, which is on the horizon, I think.
For you, the readers: If you like what you see here, tweet, facebook it, bookmark it, email it. Tell people about it, especially if they’re writers (but even if they’re not, tell them)! My own self-promotion isn’t enough. Besides, spreading good things is good karma, and it will come back to you, I’m sure.
So, thanks again everyone! Now…on to our first announcements of Monthly Finalists!
