About Weekly Writing Assignment
Weekly Writing Assignment is two things:
- A weekly/monthly/annual writing contest. To enter, read the rules.
- A resource for writers of all types.
This website was created because I love to write. But sometimes life gets in the way of my own creative expression. I’m sure there are a lot of writers like me out there, and this site is for them. I’ve always found that the best way to get my own creative juices flowing is to have an assignment, with a due date, and I’m hoping that the assignments on this site spark some great works.
I also love to read and discuss other people’s work. That’s as much part of the creative process as writing is.
About me
By day, I am a public relations account executive at an integrated communications agency. You can read more about me on my personal website. I love to write. Always have, always will. That’s why I got into PR; I wanted to put my passion to work. Before choosing that career, however, I was an editor. I was the managing editor at gnovis, and online academic journal. Before that I was an editor at poetry.com (one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had, by the way).
I have a B.A. in English and Writing from Loyola University (formerly Loyola College) and an M.A. in Communications from Georgetown University’s Communications, Culture and Technology program.
